Eclipse Lacrosse Bio

Eclipse Lacrosse Club was founded in 2013 to attract the top players from across Connecticut and build them into a team that competes at the national level. The Eclipse 2027 Black team is the next team up in a long line of successful Eclipse teams at the Lacrosse World Series Championship. Year over year this team has been rebuilt and added six new players to the roster this year.

The strength of this Eclipse team is their willingness to play tough defense, push transition and play team lacrosse on the offensive end. There are key players all over the field.  On attack Hunter Hanford, Grey Wildman and Christopher Colsey are consistent contributors. In the midfield there is strong two way play from Luke Valenti, Jake Gashi and Thomas Regan along with defensive contributions from Max Hill and Lars Gertsen. Matt Reed has been a great contributor at face off. Jimmy Benedict, Owen Robie, Walker Harvey and Bergan Nyman play tough defense in front of what we believe is one of our team’s strongest positions, our goalie Jack Crowell.

The team trains year-round and represents Eclipse with their town programs in the Spring. Eclipse takes great pride in our boys being leaders and significant performers on their town teams while training and competing at the national level.  Eight towns represent our roster- New Canaan, Darien, Westport, Ridgefield, Fairfield and Avon from Connecticut.  In addition we have New York representation from Chappaqua and Rye.

Three of our four coaches were MLL All Stars who all played professionally against each other in both the MLL and NLL. In addition Jamie Hanford, Roy Colsey and Mike Regan together represented Team USA as teammates on the only American team to ever beat team Canada in indoor lacrosse.  Offensive duties are handled by Roy Colsey and Mike Regan.  Defensive responsibilities are handled by Jamie Hanford and John Harvey.
