Shore 2 Shore Lacrosse was formed in 2015 with one team, our current 2023 OG’s. Over the past 7 years S2S has grown from 1 team in 2015 to 21 teams currently. Our 2023 OG is the first of our teams to reach a recruiting year. We are extremely proud of the fact that we currently have 14 players committed to play D1 lacrosse with more commitment to follow. The 2023 OGs have laid the groundwork for all our teams that have followed them. Their commitment to each other, their hard work, and their desire to become the best on and off the lacrosse field are characteristics we try to instill in all our athletes. Shore 2 Shore also focuses on bringing in great coaches and offering all our players high level training and coaching all year round.
Like the 2023 OG’s ahead of them, the 2027 Shore 2 Shore Grizzlies strive to get better and be the best. Each player comes to every practice ready to work hard and push each other to their limits. They love the game and are always up for a challenge to play the best competition. This group has formed a bond and camaraderie on and off the field that is displayed every time they put on their Shore 2 Shore jerseys.
The Grizzlies are led by Head Coach and S2S director Dennis Kelly. Coach Kelly is a product of Farmingdale, NY and played his collegiate lacrosse at UMass, earning All-American honors his senior year while earning “Top Long-Pole Midfielder” in the country. Coach Kelly was fortunate to play for both legendary coach Ted Garber and current UMass coach Greg Cannella. Both were great mentors to Coach Kelly and have helped shape his coaching style that he has brought to the sidelines of the Grizzlies. Assisting Coach Kelly is Brian Jacovina. Like Coach Kelly, Jacovina is a UMass graduate where he also earned All-American honors. Upon graduating UMass, Jacovina was a first-round draft pick in the MLL where he spent his career playing for both the Denver Outlaws and the Boston Cannons. In addition to playing in the MLL, Jacovina was an assistant coach at both his alma mater Umass and St. John’s University.
Qualifying for the Lacrosse World Series Championships was a very fulfilling accomplishment for this group of boys. They collectively made qualifying for this event as their goal at the end of last summer. This provided extra motivation to work as hard as they did throughout the end of last summer, this fall, winter and early spring. Although qualifying was a great accomplishment, the Grizzlies are not settling on just qualifying. They have turned their attention to being the best they can be and competing as hard as they can and making a run in the Lacrosse World Series Championship.
