Team Bio

Stars & Stripes Lacrosse is a boutique lacrosse program run out of Atlanta, GA. The goal of Stars & Stripes is to teach life lessons such as discipline, respect, and sportsmanship using only a ball and a stick. The coaching staff instills a blue-collar work ethic into young players as they learn what it means to “punch in” and “go to work”.

Stars & Stripes is more than just a lacrosse program, it is a family. The program takes only three grades at a time and matriculates the boys from middle school to high school graduation. The penultimate event for the boys is the Lake Placid Summit tournament in the summer before senior year. After that, the players who transition to play in the NCAA are invited to the Stars & Stripes collegiate team to compete in Lake Placid annually.

By the numbers, Stars & Stripes is almost a decade old (founded in 2013 in the Lehigh Valley, PA), has graduated 37 players to the collegiate ranks, and won 29 championships.

Spyro Karetsos is the founder, owner, and head coach of Stars & Stripes Lacrosse, LLC. Spyro played at Dickinson College for four seasons between 1992 and 1996. He is joined on the coaching staff for the World Series by Darren McGurn, Evan Karetsos, and Niko Karetsos. Darren McGurn was a four-time All-American at Ohio Wesleyan University. In 1998, Darren won the Turnbull Award for the nation’s top DIII attackman and named the Iroquois National Player of the Year. Evan Karetsos is a High School All-American playing in his first year at Dickinson College which posted an undefeated regular season going a phenomenal 16-0. Finally, Niko Karetsos is the 37th ranked high school player in the country in the Class of 2023. Niko is committed to the University of North Carolina to play lacrosse after he graduates from Boys’ Latin of Maryland.
