Team Bio

The Thunder Nationals are honored to compete as part of the Lacrosse World Series Championship. Our team is comprised of talented indigenous youth players who each exemplify spirit, dedication, and skill which defines our team.
With Thunder Nationals, indigenous youth players have the unique opportunity to compete at a high level while embracing their cultural identity. Whether participating in local, regional, or national tournaments, our team showcases the immense talent and resilience of indigenous lacrosse players, with the aim of making a lasting impact in the lacrosse community at large.
Beyond the thrill of competition, Thunder Nationals fosters a sense of camaraderie and unity among its members. Our team functions as a close-knit family, supporting one another’s growth, celebrating successes, and navigating challenges together. Through this collective bond, we cultivate not only exceptional athletes but also strong leaders who exemplify the principles of respect, honor, and unity both on and off the field. As part of our desire to grow the Creator’s game, the Thunder Nationals are inclusive and always open to building bridges by providing opportunities for non-indigenous players to compete as part of our team.
Our players proudly serve as ambassadors of indigenous culture, spreading awareness of the origins of dehontsigwaehs (“they bump hips”) and inspiring the next generation of indigenous youth players.
Accordingly, the Thunder Nationals are strengthening the future of indigenous lacrosse and affirming the enduring legacy of the Creator’s game.
